Senior Software Engineer: High Integrity Solutions, Romsey.  January 2004 to present.

High Integrity Solutions are a software company producing an integrated multi-tier package for developing safety critical systems. My involvement has included all aspects of the software lifecycle along with mentoring graduates.  The application is written in C# with Windows Forms, it ties together established COTS products to provide a procedural controlled system for software development. SQL Server has been used for the underlying database both stored procedures and datasets are used to manipulate the data.  The system is based on the plug in component-based three-tier structure and design is produced in Real-Time Studio using UML.

Senior Software Engineer: BAE SYSTEMS, Portsmouth.  July 1999 to January 2004.

During my four and a half years at BAE SYSTEMS I have experienced the full project lifecycle.  The analysis and design has been produced following the Rational Unified Process using UML and the implementation has been programmed in VC++ and C# with the .NET framework.  I have utilised COM/DCOM to write component-based applications and MFC for writing User Interfaces and Test Harnesses.   Web-based applications have been written using ASP interfacing with server-side COM components.  I have made good use of SQL/ADO in writing database applications and XML/DOM in producing a message conversion program.  Due to my experience I was given the additional responsibility of Team Leader and we have successfully delivered in the tightest of time scales.

Software Engineer: Business Solutions, Southampton.  August 1997 to July 1999

Writing bespoke accountancy applications in VC++ with UML; projects included a complete Accounts System for Mathmos, the lava lamp manufacturers.  I also wrote a mail order system that was successfully marketed as a generic product that could be customised for clients’ requirements.  Other high profile applications include writing a fully integrated accountancy system for Fitness First’s Head Quarters and auditing software for Sunseeker.
